“QUALITY IS THE DEGREE TO WHICH A SET OF INHERENT CHARACTERISTICS FULFILS REQUIREMENT “- ISO 9000 We at SIKUND DIAGNOSTIC CENTRE believe that quality assurance is a dynamic process. In order to ensure high standards , diagnostic accuracy and precison in our reporting we follow stringent operating procedures and quality assurance programs. Our lab follows internal and external quality assurance control programs at regular intervals.

It is useful to detect, reduce, and correct deficiencies in a laboratory’s internal analytical process prior to the release of patient results. Internal Quality control is a measure of precision, or how well the measurement system reproduces the same result over time and under varying operating conditions. It is usually run at the beginning of each shift, after an instrument is serviced, when reagent lots are changed, after calibration, and whenever patient results seem inappropriate.
LJ (Levey Jennings) chart are plotted using the sample average values and controls. The mean value and one, two and three standard deviation limits are also marked. The pattern of plotted points provides information of random error, shifts or trends in the control runs. The LJ charts are interpreted using WESTGARDS rules.

We believe that regular participation in an external quality assessment scheme (EQAS) is critical for ensuring acceptable laboratory performance facilitating optimal patient care. It helps to identify the degree of agreement between our laboratory`s results and those obtained by others.
Every month quality control cycle is run through APP- VILAC(International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation) , New Delhi-Association of practising pathologist.
